About Coach - A Brief History

In 2002, the three Children’s Homes, St George’s, St, Nicolas and St Joseph’s together with the Johannesburg Anglican Diocese signed a Memorandum of Agreement and began to investigate how to share resources as far as possible and to avoid duplication of services.

A change management process took place over two and a half years. The process was led by professionals who were able to introduce changes of the highest standards, on all operational levels, while consolidating the administration and service delivery of the homes. A constitution was adopted in 2005 and a unified Management Board was elected.

The programmes were restructured during 2006, and in 2007 COACH received confirmation of its registration as both a Non Profit Organization (052-658-NPO) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 1811134801) with Section 18A tax status.  The three Homes for fundraising purposes and historical identity still retain their NPO status.
