Coach: St George's Home Donor Lunch

Coach: St George’s Home Lunch

On the 13 May 2011, we held a lunch to honour our valuable donors at the St George’s Home in Kempton Park. Ms Carol Ralefeta, our patron from Metro FM attended the lunch and interacted with our donors and children. Our donors met our children from St George’s/Life Campus programme. Certificates of appreciation were proudly given to our donors by our youth. After the lunch, our donors visited the homes. Our donors gained a better understanding of our work. They could see exactly what their support or contributions go towards. Donor lunches will be held on a monthly basis to honour our donors of St Nicolas, St Joseph’s and St George’s Homes.

We, at Coach, value each and every one of our donors, be it individual or corporate. Our children come from disadvantaged backgrounds; most of them have been abused or neglected. They have been traumatized on many different levels. We aim to ensure this past does not negatively impact on the future of our children.

At Coach, we provide our children with a home, family, love, and education. We work with the children and their families to determine whether or not re unification of the family is possible. Our children remain in our care unit they can be safe with their own or host families. Without the support from our donors we will not be able to do the work that we do. There will be more child abuse, more children going to bed hungry and cold, fewer children receiving an education and fewer children receiving our love and support. Thank you to our donors for giving us the opportunity to be a family to our children.
